It had to be Hummingbirds...

As many of you may know, I'm a huge geek. One of the many fandoms I am a part of is the Harry Potter universe. I recently took the test on Pottermore that tells you what your Patronus Charm is and I got Hummingbird. That's right! I got a fricken hummingbird! What the f*ck does that even mean?!!
After the initial shock, I went through my own trials of confusion, denial, anger, and then finally acceptance. The reason why it affected me so much is that the Patronus test is a sort of personality test that is supposed to reveal your inner soul. I thought I'd get a lion or an elephant or maybe even a cat, but, no my inner self is a hummingbird. Instead of creating a completely new account and trying again, I decided that I'd try to understand my Patronus instead of outright rejecting it.
One of the ways that I get to know things is through drawing it. Three hours of a stream-of-conscious Google image search on hummingbirds later, and I had a hard drive full of images and stack of new colored pencil drawings. Since I don't really know what to do with them I figured that I would post them here. Starting with the first one: Allen's Hummingbird.

P.S. I have a pet-peeve when it comes to the differences between geek, nerd, and dork so I've included my own biased explanation of the differences between Geek, Nerd, and Dork.

Geek: Someone who enjoys a noncollegiate subject to the point of revelry in detail and subject specific knowledge. (Ex: Chris Hardwick, Doug Benson)

Nerd: Someone who enjoys the sciences and revels in the technicality of factual evidence. Also, does not like to break rules. (Ex: Neil Degrasse Tyson, Bill Nye, Bill Gates)

Dork: Someone who has all the social ineptitude of the above but does not necessarily have the brains to make up for the lack of social skills. (Ex: Jess from New Girl [the early seasons], The stapler guy from Office Space)

I hope everyone had a spooky and eventful Halloween!! Unfortunately, I had to put Inktober on hold so that I could finish painting and constructing a Jack-in-the-Box costume for my mother so that she could win the costume contest at her work. I'm still going to post the rest of my drawings for Inktober here and on my Instagram page. In the meantime, please enjoy these pictures of the completed costume!

..and yes, she won :D!
